Using sharepoint incoming email to Absence Request Workflow

    Hi,

We are setting up an absence approval workflow attached to an SP calendar and using an incoming email address that users can send their Outlook appts to (they invite the xxx@sharepoint.company.com). Running into issues getting an action in front of the email so as to not post to calendar until the workflow nets an Approval as well as ways to deal with updates or cancellations. Has anyone used incoming email  with a workflow on a calendar?

    Any ideas appreciated

I think it will always create the item as the first step.

Maybe you could then update some part of the item to pending approval, then use the Set Item Permission action so that it is then hidden from most users - apart from the approvers.

After approval then change permissions back to normal again using Set Item Permissions.

I've not tested this but it should work.
