I am new to using Nintex and am currently stumped with a List Iteration problem. I have a List of items called "Global Variables" and I have another list called "Local Documents". In the "Local Documents" list, I have a column of type "Lookup" and it is referencing an item in the "Global Variables" list. The lookup is working correctly, where if I make any updates to items in the "Global Variables" list, the updated value is displayed in the lookup column in the "Local Documents" list.
The "Local Documents" list is configured with a workflow, which is configured to start when a new item is created or when an existing item is modified.
My first question is, even though the global variable gets updated and the updated values is reflected in the local documents list, why is the workflow not getting started on the modification of values event?
My second question deal with a work around to this scenario. To trigger the workflow when a global variable gets updated, I have created a workflow on the global variables list, which creates a dummy item in the Local Documents list. This starts off the Workflow for the Local Documents list. But the item always points to this dummy item created by the Global Variables workflow. In the local documents Workflow, I have added the Loop action and the Foreach action, but I am unable to iterate through the existing items in the list.
Could you point me to some samples or examples of how I can iterate through the items in the List in the Workflow? I haven't created any collections and neither have I created workflow variables of type collection.
